MONOLOGUE GYM
Open to over-16* actors, our Monologue Gym is a supportive, low-stress environment where you can flex your creative muscles and make friends,
whether you're preparing for an audition, just want some practice, or would simply like to be a fly on the wall. While we specialise in Shakespeare, all genres of drama are welcome, and we are happy to recommend pieces for returning Monologue Gym participants. Though being off-book is not required, it is highly recommended if you're looking for detailed feedbback.
*While we are happy to have over-16s, please note that content is geared toward over-18s and you must have a guardian's permission to attend.

DEVON BURKE
FOUNDER/ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Devon holds an MA in Shakespeare + Creativity from the Shakespeare Institute (University of Birmingham) and a postgraduate certification in Applied Shakespeare from the University of Colorado Boulder. As a professional performer and theatre practitioner, she has trained broadly with organizations such as the Broadway Collective, SoHo Shakespeare Company, OperaWorks, and Theatrical Intimacy Education.
NOTE: Devon holds an enhanced DBS check for working with under-18s.

What's in a Name?
At Mad Atomie, identity is a key component of our work—who we truly are and how we reconcile our individual truths with the world around us. In that spirit, our first season will explore the role names play in shaping our lives. From surname to title to social and familial roles, how do the names we carry help us, hinder us, or even condemn us? Do our names belong to us, or do we belong to them? How do we find authenticiy and agency beyond our labels?
